Transcripts

Official vs. Unofficial Transcript
Your transcript comes from Parchment in two formats. One is official and one is unofficial. In Parchment, an official transcript is used for most college applications, scholarship applications and your final official transcript may need to be sent to your post high school program of choice. The unofficial one looks the same in many ways and can be used for planning, reviewing, and submitting to some organizations for certain tasks. Organizations should state what type of transcript is required for whatever it is you are trying to apply for or complete. Knowing what version of your transcript is needed will help you place the correct order in Parchment.

You cannot download your own transcript from Skyward. Follow directions above and below for ordering transcripts.

Official Transcripts for College Applications
During the fall and early winter of your senior year students may need official or unofficial transcripts for many reasons. One such reason may be to complete college application requirements. For college applications that REQUIRE official copies of your transcript please note that for any school using The Common Application you only need to order one copy to be sent to The Common Application. You will provide your Common App ID number when ordering. This allows The Common Application to populate the official transcript inside its application system for all your Common App schools. You will want to check and double check which applications require official copies to be sure you are ordering correctly.

Final Transcripts for Graduating Seniors
Colleges and some other programs require a "final transcript" which shows all your credits and grades earned in high school, including the last semester, plus the date you graduated high school. This is the official notice that you have earned your diploma. When you place the order for your final transcript in Parchment please mark HOLD FOR GRADES. This will keep your order active and pending until transcripts are updated formally in late June/Early July. Orders placed in May and June marked HOLD FOR GRADES will be released by THS as soon as your transcript is finalized. This electronic delivery is much faster, more secure, and easier for you to track.

Running Start Students: Because there is a slight delay getting grades from the colleges to post on high school transcripts, we recommend that you have an official transcript from your Running Start college sent to your four-year college (if it's a different school) once your spring semester grades are posted. You will use your college's transcript ordering platform for this.
