Families who meet certain income requirements through the
National School Lunch Program are eligible for free breakfast and lunch each day, as well as fee waivers for college applications, admissions tests and athletic programs.
Free/Reduced Meals Information
Tahoma School District participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP).
- During the summer, every Tahoma family should receive what's called a Letter to Households (PDF) | Español (PDF). This document explains who qualifies for free/reduced-price meals, and lists the household income guidelines for qualification. You may find the 2023-24 Letter to Households under "Supporting Resources" below.
- Students may qualify for meal benefits based on approved applications for free and reduced-priced meals. The application can be found inside Skyward Family Access: Instructions for Accessing the Form in Skyward (PDF) | (En Español). The link to Skyward Family Access can be found in the "Supporting Resources" section below.
- If you prefer a paper copy of the application, forms are available at all Tahoma schools, the District’s Central Services Center, and the Food Service office.
- Your student's free/reduced-price meal status is confidential information that is not automatically shared across our school system. Students who qualify for free/reduced-price meals may be eligible to receive fee waivers or reduced fees for other school programs, and families must consent to share this information with those other programs. Additional information can be found on the optional "Consent to Share Eligibility" form listed below, which may be completed, signed and returned to the address listed on the form. Please allow Nutrition Services 72 hours to process your family's Consent to Share Eligibility form.
